Reproduction of the central rear bumper mounting bracket for the Peugeot 205.

This bracket is located centrally at the rear of the vehicle, underneath the boot floor, and is welded directly to the bodywork. The removable central rear bumper bracket is then bolted onto this welded mounting point.

On many Peugeot 205s, the original mounting point has become badly corroded over the years or damaged during previous body repairs. This repair part allows the original mounting point to be restored without replacing the complete rear inner panel.

The original welded central mounting point forms part of the rear inner body panel of the Peugeot 205.

The OE reference is stated only to identify the original application and mounting location.

This product consists only of the central repair bracket that is welded to the bodywork. It is not the complete Peugeot 7243.53 rear panel.

The central rear bumper bracket that bolts onto this mounting point is a separate part.

Restoration Use

This repair part is suitable when the original central rear bumper mounting point:

  • has rusted through;
  • is damaged or deformed;
  • is missing following a previous repair;
  • needs to be rebuilt when replacing rear bodywork.

Replacing only the damaged section allows as much of the original bodywork as possible to be retained.

Installation

This part must be welded to the vehicle body.

Before final welding, we recommend checking the position using the corresponding central bumper bracket and the rear bumper. This helps maintain the original position and alignment of the rear bumper.

After installation, the uncoated steel should be properly protected against corrosion using a suitable primer, paint or coating and, where necessary, seam sealer and cavity protection.

Experience with automotive bodywork and welding is recommended.
